hi,
I’m
Rachel

I'm the founder of Confianza Collective, a bilingual storywork studio dedicated to carving out space and support for founders and community-rooted leaders to write the stories behind their work.

I'm a former writing professor who has over 16 years of experience working with writers to clarify their message and increase visibility for community-engaged work. I'm fluent in Spanish and collaborate with Raquel to give personalized feedback to writers with a focus on advancing their goals.

hola,
soy
Raquel

I'm the lead translator for Confianza Collective. I support translation between English and Spanish and can provide Spanish editing feedback to writers.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and Latin American, Caribbean, and U.S. Latinx Studies. I always work to honor each writer's voice and message in how I translate stories. I also draw from lived experience translating for my family while growing up to help make Spanish accessible to different audiences.

What to expect

Pre-Workshop Prep

Before the day of the workshop, you'll want to take a look at your current About/Our Story page and copy the text over the a document that you can edit. Don't have a website or page like this yet? No problem. Look at where you've described your business and/or yourself as a founder online in other Bios or “About” sections and copy and past those into the document. Bring that and something to type/write on to the workshop.

The workshop

Doors will open at 12:45pm with the workshop beginning at 1:00pm. Participants will be guided through a series of activities that helps them reflect on their story and start writing or updating what they have on their website or social media. This will include time to work on your own and share with other participants to get feedback. We'll wrap up by 3pm.

Connect with other Founders

Throughout the workshop you'll have a chance to connect with and learn from other local founders. We'll have a break in the middle and time at the end from 3-3:30pm when you can check out libros from La Revo Books and chat with others over coffee and light refreshments.

Join our collective of community-rooted founders who understand the power of stories to build trust and recognition for their work.
